Autumn Adventures with Bob the Labrador in Ticknall

There is something very special about seeing a dog again after photographing them as a puppy. Watching them grow, seeing their personality develop, and capturing that next chapter is always a real privilege.

I first met Bob when he was just sixteen weeks old. A bright eyed Labrador puppy with boundless curiosity and that unmistakable puppy charm. Not long after, we met again for our second photoshoot together when Bob was around sixteen months old. This time he had grown into a handsome young Labrador, full of confidence and character.

Our photoshoot took place in Ticknall in November 2021. Autumn had well and truly arrived and the countryside was glowing with rich golden colours. The fallen leaves created the most beautiful natural backdrop and the soft seasonal light was perfect for photography.

Bob absolutely loved being out exploring. Like most Labradors, he had a great enthusiasm for life and approached the session with joy and energy. Watching him run through the leaves, pausing curiously to investigate new scents, and then settling calmly for portraits captured the essence of who he was at that moment in time.

These are the moments I love preserving. Dogs change and grow so quickly and photographs allow us to hold onto those fleeting stages of their lives.

It also means the world to receive kind words from the people I photograph for. Rachel very generously shared this after our sessions together.

“Love and companionship captured in a moment. Tracey has done a couple of photoshoots for me over the years both Equine and Canine. She somehow manages to capture the raw emotion felt between animal and owner, making us feel completely at ease and act naturally in front of the camera. The pre and post communication is excellent and nothing is too much trouble.”

Working with clients over time and documenting their animals as their lives unfold is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Bob certainly enjoyed his autumn adventure in Ticknall and it was wonderful to spend time with him again.

If you would love beautiful photographs of your own dog enjoying the countryside, I would love to hear from you. My relaxed outdoor photoshoots are designed to capture your dog naturally while they explore, play, and simply be themselves.
